Question on cuttings? Newbie

Hello, I've been growing a clematis for about 3 years now in my rose garden. I live in Tampa Bay, FYI, my plant is in flower, can I take cuttings now or wait til the bloom fades etc ? Can I use my misting system?

Also, anyone know some great Clematis for Fl? I never really see em in the stores, and I hate to order online, til I have more of an idea on people favorites.

Clematis cuttings are notoriously difficult to root. Layering is much easier IMO.
