| I have an Earnest Markham that I planted last spring (I think it was May). Hence, it was just a one stem wonder last year because it was so small.
This year I went to check on it, and it started growing from that one stem, so far so good, but, I noticed that right near ground level that one stem was broken. So, I chopped the one stem down near ground level below the break. Have I killed it? I will keep watering and fertilizing like normal, but I wonder just how far down you can prune before doing serious damage. It was planted deeper by 3 to 4 inches last year too :) |

| Bummer yeah, but that's what I'm hoping for, more stems. It's early enough in the season that it should show more growth soon I hope, but maybe not any topside this year now. |

| Just an update. Earnest has sprouted again! Yay! He's alive! I found two small definitely green nubs at soil level yesterday! Now, if only the other Henryi would lol. |
