| I noticed this clematis blooming for the first time in my garden this morning.
I've purchased quite a few clems from Silver Star Vinery & Brushwood over the past few years, but just looked through their listings & see nothing similar. I have no recollection of ever purchasing this clem. It's lovely and I'm delighted, though I suspect that a purchased clem was mislabeled. The flowers are pale green, slightly nodding and about 2". Any ideas? |

| I think I figured it out! The kid woke up from the guest room/office, so I decided to go through the plant labels stored in there. I had purchased Clematis chiisanensis ‘Lemon Bells’ from Brushwood, and this looks like it! What I don't know is why I have this type one planted in and among my group threes. No wonder I've never seen it bloom before, and no wonder the flowers are all down low. |

| Yes, I'm sure that is it. :) Pruning an Atragene as a III the first few years won't hurt it and will get it off to a good start. |

| BorS - thanks. I planted it to grow up the other side of where I have c. montana 'Mayleen' planted, it just decided it wanted to hang out on the other side, with my 3's instead. I shifted it back towards Mayleen. |
