clematis 'Viola'

Accidentally posted this in the Gallery. Is it too late to cut back this clematis? I am WAY behind this spring in the garden. The newest growth started about 2 to 3 feet up the vine and it is now at the top of my privacy fence. Should I just wait until next year to prune??

Up to you, I'd do it if I were you, don't like to see those bare stems.
