Avant Garde

Hello all
I've never posted here before - I have only had one jack that does just fine and I never have questions.

BUT - I was gifted an Avant Garde seedling last fall. Planted it up but, quite frankly, I'm not sure if I'm seeing it this spring. There is "something" growing from the area but I can't tell if it's friend or foe!

I've been searching everywhere for pictures of just the foliage, preferrably on a young plant, to determine if I have a weed or a clematis growing.

Can anyone help?

TIA!

RE: Avant Garde

Clematis vines have opposite branching. If the leaves are alternate it is not a clematis.

RE: Avant Garde

Avant Garde has small leaves when compared to many others.

Posting a photo would really help.

I will take a photo then.
Knowing they have small leaves compared to others is a HUGE help though. Because this plant HAS small leaves and I thought "no way can this be a clematis"!
