I have planted Dr Ruppel and Crystal Fountain near a Ramblin' Red Rose. The rose will not grow very fast (if it doesn't die first). Any ideas as to what I can give the clems to climb on until the rose grows? This is Crystal Fountains second year in ground and it is growing fast! Dr Ruppel looks healthy too and will likely take off first year here. I have 3 wire trellises but those are taken up by my other clems. I plan to grow the two clems up the rose when it's larger. My wook trellis won't support the vines of a clem as it's made of wood posts and wood lattice.
