| We planted two clematis plants next to a vinyl wall - hoping for it to reach the trellis portion of the wall at the top later.
My question is...will the plant be able to climb the bottom four feet which is solid vinyl fence, in order to reach the upper two feet of open trellis design - open square lattice look. Or, will I need to place a real trellis of some sort for it to climb to the top. Will it latch on to solid vinyl fencing? |

| You will need some sort of trellis for it. Clematis need something no more than 1/2 in. in diameter to hold onto. |
