| I am off to the garden center today. I LOVE clematis, and have never had any. I am in Ma., zone 5. What should I look for? Any advice before I go? Should I grow in pot awhile and then put in ground? Is sun ideal? Morning, afternoon? Thank you for any help you can give. |

| Many Clematis are too big for pots and should be planted. Clematis want sun but some can take partial sun. Do you have a trellis or arbor or obelisk for the vine to grow on or are you planning on growing it over a shrub or tree? Clematis come in sizes from one foot tall to thirty feet tall. Best to buy one that will fit the space you have for it.

| So excited. Bought my first Clematis today. The name is Cardynal Wysynski. It says it will bloom June-Sept. I sure hope so. Grows 8-10 tall. I did get an obelisk also. I hope I have good luck with it. |
