Soinspired...congrats on getting them rooted..once the clematis roots have filled up your little 4 inch pots then repot into one gallon pots..what I do is sink the one-gallon pots in the soil and ALWAYS remember to keep them pinched and moist as you don't want them to grow vines but to focus on getting their roots large enough to live in your garden..then come fall...pull the one-gallon pots up and see if those roots are growing out the bottom and if so then plant into your garden but IF NOT resink the pots and let your clems spend the fall/winter there and come next Spring '2010 they should have glorious roots that can be planted directly into your gardens...Jeanne
