If you think that's good, you should see the plants from Silver Star Vinery & from Brushwood.

I bought two Clematis from Silver Star. Both were smaller than this one. One of them was about 50% smaller.

And both were wrapped in newspaper, not potted. With the very loose potting medium, I basically received a couple of bare root plants. I know most people are happy with SS Clematis, but I will never buy from them again. For $20 plus shipping, that was one of the worst purchases I made online.

I did not buy from Brushwood though. Their reputation is excellent, I know.

I did receive a larger Clematis once - from Klem's Songsparrow, but their prices are very high and the shipping charge is outrageous.

I always prefer sales though. The picture might be deceiving - the rootball would fill 1 gallon pot easily.

Thank you Alina for posting about the sale. Are their shipping costs reasonable? I couldn't find a shipping chart on their site which shows their rates.

I bought 1 clem - Huldine - from Silver Star and it is doing great here. I was surprised at the way they did the shipping but it worked out fine.

The only other place so far I've ordered clems from is Bluestone and most seem to be doing okay. They do stand behind their plants which is a good thing.
