Where is my piilu????

I planted my piilu several weeks ago, with 6 inches of soil on the crown. It has yet to break through. How long does this take? Or could it have died?

Six inches is a bit deep, wasn't there any vines above the surface when you planted it? The idea is not to completely bury the plant but to place the crown a few inches below the surface...

No there was one shoot a few inches long that was emerging from the roots. Guess I better go dig it up and check its status.
