Help Please Clematis w. Yellow Leaves

doriswk

I have done my due diligence and read the help pages first, without getting definitive answers.

My clematis jackmanii is presently in full bloom, no problems there, but many leaves are either pale yellow or yellow with green veins, and a couple of those are turning brown. It has been previously suggested that there is an iron deficiency if the new growth is yellow. Well, if the the new growth is represented by leaves right under the flowers ( ?), and these are in my case green, shall I assume there is no iron deficiency ? And then try the other suggested remedy, which was 1TBS epson salts per 1 gal water???

My clematis and I would really appreciate a response soon, so I can do something appropriate.

Thanks!
