I have had great success with cuttings that I put in water. Arabella has been particularly easy to propagate using this method.

    Henri is group 2.

Celeste, there are many good internet sites that describe the process of rooting clematis cuttings, some with illustrations, e.g. this one:

    http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~JN7H-OONM/contents/cuttings_e.html

You can also search this forum, using the keyword "propagate" (be sure to spell it correctly), and get lots of tips.

    Good luck.

Henryi is a Type II, if it is a new transplant it will benefit from being pruned as a Type III the first year or two.
