Yellow Spots on Leaves

I am new to clematis plants but have always admired their beauty. We recently moved to a new house and I am working on shrubs and flowers. I planted this Pink Champagne clematis about three weeks ago. It has gotten these yellow spots on its lower leaves, but it seems they may be moving up the stems. Is it a virus?

Looks more like chemical splatter to me, have you used any weedkillers?

I did use some Round-up on the nearby pea gravel last week. Oh no, is it going to die?!?!

Only time will tell, Round Up is a non specific herbicide....
