I have a couple of nonclimbing clematis that grow up tall trellis. Though they don't cling they grow between the railings of the trellis. Occasionally I will tuck in a wandering vine here and there. One has outgrown the trellis and is growing into a pine tree.

When this one gets to the top I continue to tuck vines between other vines and the railings.

Buy, what do you think of my adding Petit Faucon to the trellis above? The flowers both open to 4 petals though PF is dark purple. Do you think they are too much alike?

I love your Juuli and bought an Alionushka last week. I will put it on a trellis.

Just a thought but is it possible to wire another cage together at the tops of your two? Maybe take one new cage and cut it down to make the addition?

Petite Faucon is very "thick" for me with dozens of stems. I'm not sure it would play well with another Clematis. It did actually kill a Caryopteris and I can't remember what else it was planted near.

Thanks, I will reconsider. My recta grows on a trellis with Rouge Cardinal. I am going to remove the Rouge Cardinal as though it contrasts nicely with Recta it doesn't grow as well as I think it might somewhere else.
