depends on whether or not they are ones that rebloom. Not all do. Those that do respond well to being cut back by a third or so. Some have really attractive seedheads.

When I pruned all my 5 reblooming Clems I felt bad pitching the beautiful seed heads & collected them for my 9y/o gran-dau ~ floated some in a wide glass bowl that served to hold some sprigs of Blue Bell Clem & other bloom arrangement.

It was a very interesting learning experience for both my g-dau & me. Floating in a bowl lasted for 2 weeks & those left in a basket to dry proceeded to mature into puff balls my g-dau created projects w/!
