SAC virginiana or terniflora?

I purchased a SAC from Garden Crossings last year and planted last fall. It isn't doing that well, just stunted. Which got me looking at pics of SAC on DG site. What I have, from what I can see of the leaves, is NOT SAC terniflora, but rather virginiana! Looking at my pic of my SAC, do you think it's terniflora or virginiana? Is there any difference in growth characteristics? Maybe that's why mine is so slowwwww to grow? It looks like it's got toothed leaves not rounded.

BTW: this is a pic from last fall. It hasn't even leafed up like it is in the pic. :(

I have it planted near some hedges, where it gets sun from about noon till dusk. I do keep it mulched and watered well.
