Will it survive harsh evening sun?

Hi everyone! I am still on the fence about purching my first Clematis. I've been researching them for days on end now, admiring every single picture I see of them.

I am just too afraid of them not doing well in the one spot I have available for them. The only spot I have gets sun all day (which I am not afraid of)....however, it gets some super harsh evening sun from about 4:30-6:30pm when the sun is going down. Everything I am reading says the bottom likes shade and the top likes sun. But its the really harsh evening sun I am worried about. I keeping reading that if I stick with Group 3 Types that I may be okay. But I'm just not sure. Seems like everything I put there the leaves want to get scorched from the sun.

I am near Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Zone 9b).

Guess I'm just afraid to spend too much $$ on the pots, these beautiful trellises I found, plus plants, soil, the works...if I feel they won't work there :( Anyone grow theirs in a spot that gets some pretty heavy direct evening sun for about 2 hours?
