Help picking clematis

Hello, new to clematis and have never had one yet. I want to plant one on a trellis placed in a corner in the front by a bay window. The area is clay soil and the roots would be shaded except in the early morning. It would probably only get a little less than half day sun and rest of the time would be what I call bright shade. I don't want something that will overwhelm the area or look like a big tangled mess. It will be located close to a Japanese maple as well. Would prefer lighter color flowers either white, pink or light blue will do.

I'm assuming I should get a Group 3 plant? Long bloom period or rebloom would be nice. Would like some suggestions. Thanks!
