I am in zone 4 and plant perennials as long as the ground is not frozen, sometimes that is into November. Be sure to keep them watered and mulch well for winter. Newly late planted perennials can be mulched when they are planted which will keep the soil from freezing longer and help the roots get established.

I was looking at Sweet Autumn at different Clematis nurseries and want something a little larger than what Michigan Bulb sends. Can someone recommend a nursery, please? Thanks!

Brad, ive never ordered clems online, so i searched and found a helpful thread if you have time to read it.
The sweet autumn i have was from a local nursery came in a 1 qt pot, and grew pretty quick for me . Id imagine its the same size nurseries send (tho i know michgan bulb will send you a piece of a piece of a baby clem!lol ) .
