Can I prune Guernsey Cream now? Urgent!

I'm wondering if I can cut it back now? It is currently planted between my climbing roses but I don't want it there anymore and I plan on moving it altogether in the spring when I can find a suitable location. I unraveled the stems from the trellis so I could work on tying up my rose canes, which is why I want to know if I can cut it back now. I'm in a bit of a panic not knowing what to do. If I can't cut it back now, I'll just hang the vines back up on the trellis/fence. I planted this clematis last spring. I'm in British Columbia. Zone 8

I'd move it now. Fall is a great time to move plants in our climate.

It isn't optimal to cut it back now as that might trigger new growth but it likely won't harm it either.

Thanks b/s. I wish I could move it now but I really don't have a place to put it until spring. If I do cut it back will it still bloom in the warmer season? Thanks again and also for your very quick reply.
