Overwintering Clematis in Containers

nixonk

Ok, so I've searched everywhere but can't seem to find information. I'm thinking of planting Clematis in containers next Spring and I've gathered that I will probably have to overwinter the container in an unheated basement but I have questions about light conditions and water requirements. Is it ok if the basement is completely dark and do I have to water the clematis? If I do have to water, how much? Thanks in advance!
