It's not uncommon to have an out of season bloom. I imagine the hot weather gave it a shock and set her in motion.
Wish some of mine did that ;-).

Interesting - out here clivia are seldom pot plants, almost always live outdoors (San Francisco's Golden Gate Park has literally thousands of them). They need rain and food, then start to bloom in late February to early March, until mid-May/early June.

They seem to need some sun, but not too much of it, to start working on the bloom cycle. We have droughts out here so mine are on minimal watering cycle. I've noticed when our winters are very rainy, I get a better show from the clivia.

Mine are outside as well and we get an occasional "confused" plant blooming at the wrong time.

Mine are outside in the ground, and I am getting a second bloom cycle on two of them. I wonder why this happens?

I've had this happen with amaryllis/hippeastrum; it blooms indoors in the natural cycle in January-April, but when you set it out, it blooms again 1-2 months later, because the changing conditions triggers it into thinking it's in a different place in the cycle.

I think moving it from one location to another sets that in motion.

When I bring them back inside, they get back on schedule.

I wouldn't worry. If you are really intent on timing your blooms, you probably shouldn't move it from inside to out. But if you are OK with it "surprising" you, I do not think the health of the plant is at risk here.

I have found with hippeastrum that if it is an extremely large, mature and healthy plant, it may even be able bloom twice per year, on both the natural and the artificial cycle, and if that's true for this individual and species you'll see another bloom in 6 months. If it is only big enough to bloom once per year, it may be 12-18 months before it blooms again.

I checked my old photos, and found that my clivia blooms every year in late June. From 2013 to 2015. So at least to me, this is common.
