church community garden plow question

Our church group is beginning a community garden of 150'x75'. I am a total newbie on gardening stuff. I assume we'll be using neat rows of stuff for planting. I'm trying to put together a package of least costly equipment.

We have a Sears GT-5000 garden tractor. Because of this, our most economical choice would be to use it to pull eqpt. I also think it's best if we use Sears because of warranty, deliverd right here, etc.

Would someone look at the two pages of Sears ground engaging equipment and tell me what we need. It looks like maybe one or three plows we would need. In addition, are there anything that Sears doesn't have we'll need?

If needed, I can get ground engaging equipment on Ebay, and then ship in a big cost, or maybe go get .

Or, here's one other source that maybe we could use:

RE: church community garden plow question

Will you have people at your church or within your community who have had vegetable gardens? Do you have a master gardening program in your county? If so, they would be a good source to tap into for advice & help. Your county ag representative could be a big help for info. I'd get a small group of gardeners together & plan out what & how you want to get your garden started. One of the main goals of any community type of garden is including anyone within your local community in this endeavor. Gardening is a wonderful way to share God's gifts of nature. Keep your gardenweb friends posted on your progress. What zone are you in?

RE: church community garden plow question

Our church has plots about 4' x 12' We started by just making the boxes and filling them with soil, leaving grass around in wide enough rows that it could be mown. Why not do that. We did hand dig a fairly large patch for spuds.

Community involvement is really VIP. Look at the name, Community......

What zone or ztate are you in? That makes a diff. as to how much time you have before best planting date.

We now have a long perennial bed along one side and 5 or 6 clematis on netting growing up the walls.
