Need some advice, on the practical side

I just got a 15X30 plot and I'm psyched! It comes complete with water and knee high weeds. It's also 15min drive from my house. Do you lug all the stuff you need (hoe, shovel, twine, clippers, gloves, etc.) with you everytime? There's no shed. Don't know who the neighboring gardeners are yet, and don't want to use their stuff without permission, but their wheelbarrow sitting there would sure come in handy for the bags of manure I'll have to haul in. Any rules of etiquette I should know about?

Congratulations on your plot!

I think it's different at every garden. We've got a shed with some communal property-wheelbarrows, shovels, etc. for everyone to use. I keep a small plastic container with a lid for trowels, gloves, pruners and other small items in my plot. Every garden will have its own culture, maybe rules. Get to know your fellow gardeners and ask. In the meantime, bring your own stuff.

Good luck, CarrieB
