community gardens syracuse ny

i live on tipp hill, and am trying to organize community gardens in the area. i figure this would be as good a place as any to network with fellow growers in the area, as going door to door to talk to people in this weather with two young kids is quite out of the question! there are a few vacant city lots i have my eye on. please feel free to email me with any ideas or if you'd like to get involved. i know there are many people who do the gardens at the park and whatnot, but i'm hoping for food production! thanks

RE: community gardens syracuse ny

I live on the other side of the city (Eastwood)with my 2 young children, but I was thinking about the same thing, food production. There is a community garden project in Rochester that works with area schools. I thought that sounded like an excellent idea, and was wondering why we didn't have anything like it in Syracuse.
