My friend bought her house last year, and it has about 1.75 acres of land that she would like to turn into a community garden for kids. She would love to have the entire yard be plots, you can see from the photo that there are 2 right now on the left (but they need to be weeded and fixed up). Closest in the photo is an herb garden.

We would like to know what the best way to go about this, and how we should lay out the plots.

She has hundreds of raspberry bushes all over the yard that she'd like to get into one place as well. Should we put them all together, or should they be singly spaced?

Also, what is the best way to control weeds in this situation?

How do we go about measuring and making plots?

We are brand new to this type of gardening. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! We need help!
