I'm the kind of person who likes to know everything about everything. That said, I can't find a book that tells me what the various weeds are that are growing around the community garden. Is there such a thing? An illustrated guide to weeds? Bird watchers have one for birds. There are ones on butterflies, native plants, rocks, all sorts of things. Any ideas from the bigger whole? Oh, I am a teacher and my class often asks me what "that" is -- invariaby it is some weed that is growing in an untended lot. Wouldn't it be great to have a manual that they can refer to themselves ?!

Karin, I dont know what State you live in, but there is a book called Weeds of the West, a very informative book, not specific to COmmuntiy Gardens, as I am certain certain weeds grown best in certain areas of the country. I also know that some plants we refer to as weeds, are weeeds only to us, and not everyone considers them weeds. Borage and Purslane - considered weeds in most parts of the US, especially to gardeners, are edible as are dandelions, and are considered crops in some parts of the world. As are mints.
