Are there any examples out there of a WORKING community garden located on LAUSD (or any school district) property? If so, what are the parameters of use?

I don't know what school district it was but I saw a segment on HGTV where a woman started a program w/kids in an L.A. school. They turned an old parking lot (I believe school property) into a vegatable garden. The kids care for it aand harvest the produse for home ec. class.
