Is there a community garden in RI?

I'm looking for a relatively small plot of land and wonder if there is a community garden in RI? My purpose is to transplant some things for overwintering while I sell my house. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Is there a community garden in RI?

Hi, Tangerine--

There's a community garden on Chapin Avenue (Providence) on the west side, about one block from Messer Street. There's also a cute little garden on the east side in the Brown area. . .Don't know the exact street--the problem is I have no idea if it's just for Brown Students or not. It's about two blocks off Thayer (on the side closer to downtown not closer to Waylan Square).

Try putting up a post on craig's list too--maybe over "general" and I bet you'll get some better intelligence.

ah, in my non-detail way, I just noticed the date of your post. I guess it's far too late. Anyway, If anyone else is looking for community gardens, in Providence anyway, those are two I know of. Plus, City Farm behind RI Hospital looks for volunteers (I think they also go by Southside Landtrust but I'm not sure).
