I am an AmeriCorps member working with an community garden.
I am a volunteer worker for community based agencies in exchange for a small living allowance and a educational award, after I complete a service term of 1700 hrs. I am looking for ideas to help me keep the garden going. I am also looking for information on how to get garden tools donated.

Regarding sources of funding: We have a children's teaching garden in my community. Seedlings and tools were donated from local sources--Home Depot, Pergament, 2 local landcaping firms, and community residents themselves.

Besides gardening, the kids also make nature crafts, and we take trips occasionally (botanical gardens, ponds, and nature center). Hope this helps.
