Hi Chris, I've been starting indoor seedlings under my grow lights and dreaming of summer garden beds the last month or so. Thought I'd pop round the garden posts to see how things are. Did you get your gardening show off the ground? Seems there are not that many gardening shows anymore in my area...unlike years ago where Saturday mornings were PBS shows back to back like Victory Garden, Elliot Coleman and his partner, Mark Cullen. Nothing now that I can find. Are you still looking for ideas? My interests in gardening extend to what other people are doing in community/guerrila gardens. There may be many bad experiences but there are many great experiences too. I've just contacted a group in NYC area that have been successful with community gardens to offer them some of my extra garden seeds (too many in most packs for home gardens)...I've traded seeds, given away seeds and still wind up with too many. My latest interests (I'm awaiting the postal truck...) are square foot/intensive gardening - All New Square Foot Gardening: Grow More in Less Space!, - How To Grow More Vegetables 7th Ed companion planting - Carrots Love Tomatoes: Secrets of Companion Planting for Successful Gardening container gardening What I'd love to see on a gardening show: gardening with children - getting them interested, what they can do a portion focusing on a vegetable and flower - how to grow them growing from seeds - tried and true methods like starting seeds in ziplock baggies, pop bottle greenhouses/self watering pop bottles, winter sowing (check with Trudi or get her a guest spot) seedlings - transferring to bigger pots - follow through right into placement into the garden Weed - one weed per segment I have lots of information I've gathered online if you need references or further information.
