Gardening in the 'gunks' So. edge of Catskills

or the Hudson Valley...there are so many ways to refer to this area. I can grow just about anything in the soil where our garden community is located. This year, with all the rain and cool temperatures...many things were "blighted". The tomatoes etc. My late planted peas are very small. It's also been quite cool. What would do well in these conditions and how does one fight the blight?

At home, my flowering bushes that were HUGE last year in the drought are miserable and scrawny this year. More blight? What to do?

Our gardens belong to the city. A 20 x 30 plot is "rented" for 10 or 15 bucks for the year. How does this compare?

No chemicals are allowed...and no burning. Many gardeneres neglect their plots...and they are a MESS. What to do and not be a real meany by reassigning plots?
