I am a chef instructor at the Orlando Culinary Academy, Le Cordon Bleu. I have a club called Sprouts, and we have 2 good sized beds in the back of the school, plus several fruit trees. I thought you might like to see the beds. These pictures were taken in early summer, and have changed tremendiously, they've have doubled in size- but it gives you a good idea. We are always changing what we grow, to meet the demmands of the school, and what we can get. (We love donations!!!) We are in the process of getting permission from the landlord to start a composter- which would be wonderful- we certainly produce lots of food scrap!! Since April we have harvested over 33 pounds of herbs, several dozen Japanese eggplant, and other cool stuff as well. We are also in the process- once we have permission- to get several bee hives, to learn the process of collecting honey with the help of a master bee keeper. Quite cool, huh?

Very cool indeed! It's fantastic when people realize how easy it is to grow their own food - especially herbs. Fresh from the garden always tastes better than delayed from the store.
