Victory Gardens

Ok, I'm not sure how I got here, but I am looking for the different types of flowers and veggies to grow in the old fashioned Victory Gardens of the World War l and WWll. I want mostly flowers with some veggies added. My bosses want me to plant flowers in red, white, and blue to honor America and the Sept 11 Attack on America and I thought it would be wonderful to add the old fashioned WWII victory garden to honor those who fought in the past to keep America free. I am assuming I'll be using flowers that were popular in the 1940's and that will be great!!I am looking forward to hearing from anyone or if you know where to direct me from here it would greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

If you do a search under "victory garden" (use the quotes for better results) on the web you should have plenty of info to get you started.

RE: Victory Gardens

Hi there. I have a community garden plot at the Arbutus Victory Garden in Vancouver. The garden is on unused City property beside a railway line. People have been gardening there for years, since one neighbourhood resident started a Victory garden there. Good luck with your project.
