My companioning plan--does it work?

Hi there,

I posted this in the Vegetable Gardening forum, and it was suggested I post it here, where might get more informed responses.

I have 8, 4x8 raised beds and 1, 16x20 plot. This is the plan I've come up with, based on my research into companion planning. My goal is to use the little space I have as efficiently as possible, without going all square-foot gardening.

Also, the plot goes to spuds, because we eat a lot of them, and peas, because I want to grow enough to can this year.

Any feedback would be most welcome. Thanks for taking the time, too.

Asparagus: A small plot, companion with parsley

Box 4 Corn

Box 5: 1 Baby Pam pumpkin vine, 1 French melon vine

Box 6: Onions, companion with dill

Box 7: Spinach and beets; when theyre gone, Brussels sprouts; companion with cilantro

Box 8: 1 hot pepper, 4 Lunchbox pepper, 1 cucumber vine (last year I was drowning in cukes, and I don't make pickles)

Plot1/2 Potatoes and peas, companion with basil (basil deters potato beetles)

Plot1/2 Potatoes and peas, companion with marigolds (marigolds deter nemotodes)
