Sunchokes with white clover?

I was thinking about trying sunchokes with white clover growing underneath. Has anybody tried this? The idea is to have a green carpet ready to go after the sunchokes have been cut down in late summer. The white clover should repair itself from the damage of harvesting the sunchokes. Will this decrease the size of the tubers? Are there other alternatives that have been tried? Any advise is welcome.
