Maybe Ajuga reptans (carpet bugle, one of the bronze types), Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea', and/or Imperata cylindrica 'Rubra' (Japanese blood grass). Oh, the possibilities are endless! :)

How about lantana (Miss Huff gets pretty big), Datura, red wing begonia, and some of the dramatic new coleus? I love putting together bold combinations, especially in pots. And if you were planning pots--sweet potatoe vine (both the black and chartreuse), and setcresea(sp?-wandering jew) work well.

Ornamental grasses - "zebra grass" or porcupine grass" (one of the variegated miscanthus) would go well; nasturtium crawling at their feet; fuchsia; caladiums can find shelter under the EEs; wave petunias; African daisies; New Zealand flax ...........

Like Brenda said, the possibilities are endless.
