Companion for Blue Girl/Boy Holly

point202

I'd like some suggestions from my fellow gardeners regarding good companion plants for blue girl/boy holly. I currently have two blue girl holly bushes planted in a bed along the foundation of my front porch. The companion male plant is along the side of the porch, and is paired with some azaleas and a rhododendren. All of the holly shrubs are still quite young, and are 2 feet tall at the most at this point.

The girl bushes look lovely in the winter with their berries, but in the spring and summer the space could use some color. I'm looking for some suggestions for perhaps some flowering shrubs that stay small, or even some suggestions for perennial flowers to plant next to and among the two young holly bushes. The azaleas and rhodo are all in shades of pink. Other plants in the front yard include a Jane Magnolia tree, irises, peonies and an assortment of spring flowering bulbs.

Thank you for your help!
