Where do I find the plants/flowers of the year?

I am sure this isn't the proper forum, just don't know where to post it. I have someone looking for the plants/flowers of the year, and wondering myself where to find these. I know I can find the rose of the year, but what about the more simpler plants and flowers? Is there a listing, a catalog to peruse, what do I look for?

Dear Fuddyduddy,
Try the Perennial Plant Association (www.perennialplant.org) for perennials chosen since 1990.

The All-America Selections website lists annuals, fruits and vegetables that have been chosen since 1933.

Here is a link that might be useful: All-America Selections
