Liatris, Grape Hyancith and Nodding Onion

I saw a "bargain bag" of Liatris at Lowes.

I'm thinking of planting them under/along some Yews that are dying back because of old age and snow plow injuries. They would have to share space with some Grape Hyacinth, Nodding Onion, and the Yews. Also a couple Aster and Echinacea (if they survived). Would this combination work? What happens when they spread?
