I just read an old post where the poster said they read not to plant pole beans near tomatoes. It was a quote from the Organic Gardeners Bible I think. Anyway, I am confused because in the same post, a link to a chart of companion and antagonistic plants was listed. I went to the link, and it did not list pole beans and tomatoes as antagonistic. It said bush beans and tomatoes are good companions, and nothing one way or the other about pole beans. What would be the difference between a pole bean and bush bean where they would have opposite effects on tomatoes. I had planned to plant a row of pole beans next to a row of tomatoes. Anybody got any experience with this?
