I've decided the lamb's ears' silver foliage does not work well with the yellow stripes of my variegated liriope and the sunny yellow flowers of my Moonbeam coreopsis. So I need to find a different plant to replace the lamb's ears. It needs broad leaves to contrast with the lawn and define the edge of the flower bed. It needs to be 10' tall or shorter, love full sun and be somewhat drought tolerant. I know lady's mantle, hostas, and the new chartreuse Heuchera varieties wouldn't work because they need some shade or else lots of water. Is there a short, sunloving perennial out there with large, yellowish leaves? Or is there a different direction I should go with this?
