basil near cucumbers

| Is basil considered an aromatic herb? Will it negatively affect the taste or growth of cucumbers? If it does have a negative impact, how far should it be planted from the cucs? |

| I don't generally think the flavor of herbs affects nearby plants.... whereas their attraction/detraction to certain insects can provide beneficial to certain plants.... |
