Companion suggestions for Calamint?

On a whim I planted a bunch of white Calamint - aka Calamintha nepeta nepeta - in the streetside "tree pit" in front of my house in Brooklyn. It has settled in and basically taken over, despite dividing. Any recommendations for a colorful, easy-care, drought-tolerant perennial that would look good with the Calamint? Calamint has cloudlike spikes of tiny white flowers with a lavender cast. It is so happy in this bed that I hate to move it, but it is awfully dull by itself.

The only other things in the bed are a few variegated evergreen Euonymus 'Emerald Gaiety'. I was thinking of adding some dark Ajuga also ('Mahogany' or similar) for year-round foliage interest, but I think a big punch of color is warranted too.

The tree in the center of the pit is a city-planted variety and it's quite small, so the bed is basically in full sun. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

I like pinks and yellows with catmint. I'm partial to echinaceas. they're pretty and carefree.

I also like the tall phlox with them.
