| just read where not to plant beans and onions together. I have a row of onions about 3 ft away from my bean poles. Hope that will be ok since i already put in the bean poles. I always plant marigolds with the beans tho and never have any bug problems. a wonderful combination for me. |

| There is difficulty in locating any research related to the companion aspect. I did find something by searching intercropping. The study was on the effects of intercropping of green beans with green onion and head lettuce. Give it a read, compare the yield charts and see if you agree with the conclusions. |
