| Tell me I'm not crazy... I'm thinking of putting a white tree peony next to red and yellow cannas, a 'Hot Cocoa' rose and black single hollyhocks. Everything in the bed is hot colors. The cannas weren't planned, they were freebies. Everything else is cottagish - celosia, hardy geranium, etc. Should I pull the cannas? I need height. |

| actually, I think that would look great- I'd want to add a sedum or something that blooms orange, to give it the full chromatic scale, and the the near-black of the hollyhock, and the white of the peony should make the whole bed 'pop'...but then I'm a bloody art major, and when I moved into this house, and the beds were full of red and yellow tulips, my first thought was apricot daffodils and the brightest orange tulips I could find! |
