You do realize that 3 Artichokes will pretty much fill up a 4X6 bed? Each plant can grow to 5 feet in Diameter.

Yes, I know. I was looking for something that I could plant that might grow under them, like radishes or something. I hate to see that space sit unplanted, even if I can only put a fast-growing crop there.

How about some lettuce Kathy. As the artichokes get big they will shade the lettuce for you.
