Will all types of marigold repel hornworms?

I read that marigolds and basil help repel hornworms when planted with tomatoes. I have two types of marigold seeds- Scarlet Starlet and Jaguar. They are not the bushy type of marigold. I'm not sure if there is a specific type of marigold that will repel the hornworms. My tomatoes were plagued by them last year. I'm not even sure if planting marigolds will work, but I will give it a shot, plus it will look nice :)
Has anyone had any luck with this? Thanks in advance...
