Does this group of plants work well together?

I have a 3 ft. diameter octagonal raised be and I was thinking of growing cucumber and tomato up a trellis, peppers and basil and tuck in a few marigolds and nasturcians. From what I've been reading these plants should work well together with the question being Basil and cucumbers - a couple of sites have listed Basil as a no no with cucumbers but others say it is okay. Please help me with my confusion

Hi Fern! I checked the resources I have and one has only one "keep away"--late potatoes. Another says stay away from strong herbs. Hope this helps. mary d

Suggestion, you may want to use the basil as a separator between the vegetables. Will all of those plants be in one container?

I don't know if you've seen this before, I found it interesting. Scroll down to see info on vegetables.

Here is a link that might be useful: List of Companion Plants
